Dan always gets Veteran's Day off (and I don't), and since it's the day before my birthday, this year he met me downtown for a special lunch at a spot we've been wanting to try out since my sister-in-law, Lisa, told us about it.
Sazerac is inside the Hotel Monaco, and serves a sort of elegant Southern food - though my menu choice didn't really fall in that category.
I went for a Mahi Mahi sandwich served on a focaccia bread, and paired with house-made potato chips sprinkled with fresh dill - which was perfect with the fish sandwich. And I washed it down with a nice iced tea.
Lunch was great, but it helped that I had such a great date.
