Every time I'm at (or hosting) a dinner party with kids, they seem to go ape-sh*t for Annie's Mac & Cheese. We had a box leftover from hosting Memento Meal, so we made it up tonight.
In a word: terrible. I swear I followed the directions, but it was soupy and weird and I really didn't like it. It was all the things I remember hating about boxed mac & cheese as a kid, and none of the things I remember liking about boxed mac & cheese from my Burning Man experiences with it. Maybe it's like a lot of foods, and they tell you to use too much liquid, and there's some sort of tribal knowledge out there to cut back, despite what the box says. Or maybe I was distracted with packing and added too much milk.
