Rootbeer Float and Herby Lasagna

This afternoon, we walked down to the QFC to get provisions, and we planned to treat ourselves with something yummy from Starbucks. Dan got a gingerbread latte, but nothing looked that good to me (not being a coffee drinker) - plus, we had a lot of bags to carry. So when we got home, I decided my treat would be a rootbeer float. We had some vanilla ice cream left over from Dan's birthday, and rootbeer from a party. I popped a lactaid (my favorite chewable, fast acting vanilla flavored ones) and enjoyed my soda shop treat.

For dinner, Dan & I worked together to make a lasagna. Nothing special in terms of ingredients - except that we used herbs from our Aerogarden for the first time! I taught Dan how to make a chiffonade of basil, oregano, and parsley, and we sprinkled it on top of the lasagna before baking it. It smelled great and tasted even better! It's fun to be able to grow some of our own food, even in the dead of winter.
