Mangalista Ravioli
Dan & I met up at the grocery store after work, to start getting the supplies we need for Sunday's Super-Birthday-Bowl Party (Dan's Dad & Nephew are celebrating birthdays, and we're hosting). I knew I needed to get started on some of the prep tonight (making sugar cookie dough for some football themed cookies), so we planned to keep tonight's dinner simple.
One of our favorite quick & easy meals is to get some pasta & sauce at the market from La Pasta. This week, we couldn't resist trying out the Mangalista 'Wooly Pig' Ravioli - which turned out delicious with their Pomodoro sauce, a little Subblime cheese from Estrella grated on top, and some basil from our garden. The Mangalista was much lighter (both in color and flavor) than I'd expected - not fatty at all, but really, really tasty.

Hi....I just discovered your blog and think that it is most excellent! You and I share many tastes in common, and also we both live in Seattle! I look forward to working my way through all your posts...if January 2009 is any example, I know I will love everything else.
Just a couple of quick questions...is "La Pasta" a brand name? Where do you find their products in Seattle? And what is the source of the Estrella cheeses...are they available locally or do you have to mail order?
Sorry, I don't know your name...couldn't find it anywhere on the blog (just Dan's). Is it possible to email you directly to ask a question, or just by posting a comment? Thanks again!
Hi,
Oddly enough, my name's Dan as well. Our friends and family often call us 'The Dans' for short.
Glad to hear you like the blog! Thanks for reading. I've been enjoying keeping track of things this way for the past year.
La Pasta is a local pasta maker, located in the Wedgewood area of Seattle, at 9118 35th Ave NE. Estrella Family Creamery is located up in Montesano, WA - and online at
http://estrellafamilycreamery.com/default.aspx
We buy from both of them on Saturday mornings at the University District Farmers Market

Hi again. Does La Pasta have a retail outlet at the Wedgewood location?
We've never been to their Wedgewood location, so I'm not sure. I've not been able to find a web site for them, but I found their address and phone number by Googling them - (206) 527-3301
