This Week at the Farmers Market, and QFC

Dan & I both woke up bright and early today, and almost made it to the U-District Farmers Market before the 9am starting bell. It was crisp and very cold out, so we bundled up, but thankfully the sky was once again clear this week. We shopped at many of our usual spots, but decided to try out Estrella Family Creamery when we realized the really nice woman we used to buy cheese from at Samish Bay Creamery is now working there. I had heard great things about their cheese, and rightfully so. Besides great service, we got to sample lots of types of cheese - all of which were delicious.

  • Pint of Whole Raw Milk ($4) from Sea Breeze Farm on Vashon
  • About 1/2 cup of Yellow Foot Chanterelle Mushrooms ($1.50) from Foraged & Found Edibles
  • One White Onion ($0.75) from Willie Greens of Monroe
  • 2 dozen large eggs ($12) and a couple handfuls of Brussels sprouts ($2.50) from Stoney Plains Farm in Tenino
  • 1 lb Hot Italian Sausage ($8) from Skagit River Ranch in Sedro Wooley
  • 1/3 lb Olde Apple Tree Tome cheese ($6.90) and 1/3 lb Subblime cheese ($7.59) from Estrella Family Creamery in Montesano
  • Mangalista Wooly Pig Ravioli ($13.75) and Pomodoro Sauce ($4.75) from La Pasta in Seattle
  • 3 Italian Plums ($3) and 1 Arkansas Black Apple ($1.25) from Tiny's Organics of East Wenatchee
  • 4 Viking Purple potatoes from Olsen Farms in Colville
