Cinco De Mayo Party

I woke up today feeling not so good - sore throat, runny nose, cough - which was surely just allergies, but made me a little nervous about swine flu panic if I went out in public.

Thankfully, by the afternoon, I was back to normal - so Dan & I were able to attend Mary's annual Cinco De Mayo party. Once again, the weather didn't really cooperate, but that didn't stop us from enjoying amazing food and drink. Dan & I brought the cookies, Mary's good friend Jimmy brought Orange Cake and Strawberry Cake (yum!) and mixed up his famous margaritas, her daughter Mary Anne brought flautas I couldn't stop eating and a great salad featuring a Jalapeno Ranch dressing, her grandson made some pico de gallo, and Mary's son Wally braved the rain to cook up amazing barbecue chicken. And of course, Mary had chips, salsa, guacamole, and plenty of Corona on hand. We hung out in the living room and enjoyed conversation and some Latin tunes courtesy of Mary's other daughter Kathy.

As you can see, I forgot to take my camera over, but I assure you the food was wonderful, and the company was perfect. Mary and her family are so welcoming, you feel like part of the family as soon as you step in the door.
