When in Doubt: El Sombrero

Dan's been working some very long days this week, getting things up to date after 3 weeks away. Tonight, he didn't make it home until after 6pm (I believe he left this morning before 6am), and we still have no groceries to speak of - so we agreed there was only one thing to do: Go to El Sombrero.

Dan got adventurous and tried the Pollo Loco - their signature perfectly cooked chicken breast swimming in a cheesy mushroom sauce.

I was a little loopy from a muscle relaxant I took to combat some muscle cramps and tension, so I had a hard time deciding. Anytime I have to take meds, it challenges my ability to make smart food choices. I get ravenous, I think because the first thing to be numbed is any sense of fullness. In that sorry state, I went for the extraordinarily hearty Seafood Chimichanga. I only ate half, but still expect I'll be paying for the decision. I should've gone with a taco salad. Not to say it's not delicious - just a little heavy and a HUGE portion.
