Hawaii Day 3: Big Island Candy, and Mexican Dinner

Today started with more wedding errands to run - more than ever, in fact. One of them was a stop at Big Island Candies, to pick up our wedding favors (chocolate dipped macadamia nut shortbread cookies). While there, I also grabbed some chocolate covered ika, which I'd seen on one of Sam Brown's travel channel shows. Ika is cuttlefish, which has a salty/fishy taste that is in sharp contrast to the chocolate.

For lunch, we had some nachos back at the house with Dan's folks, which I failed to photograph.

Then for dinner, Carolyn, Jason, and I collaborated to make a big batch of Ono fish tacos, Anna shared some wasabi ahi poke she picked up, Dan whipped up Mai Tais for eveyone who wanted one, and Carolyn made a Dembiczak favorite: Mexican Haystack.

Mexican Haystack a multi layer dip with beans, sour cream, cheese, guacamole (which I made earlier), tomatoes, onions, and olives. It's a definite comfort food, and everyone enjoyed it.
