Hawaii Day 6: Lu Lu's and Kona Brewing

Today w were treated to a great breakfast of wedding leftovers by Anna & Jason, featuring kalua pork, egg, and potato burritos, along with fresh fruit and other tasty items. They also whipped up some kalua pork quesadillas, which they took with them on their trip over to Kona.

We made our way to Kona as well, via the lower road so we could stop at the Kilauea volcano. You'll be able to read all about what we saw in our new blog, The Dans in Hawai'i, soon.

I crashed out in the car, and woke up just outside Kona. Once we were checked in at the hotel, we headed over to a great sports bar in town called Lu Lu's (where we'd had lunch back in October).

The margaritas are perfectly refreshing on a hot day, and go down quick. I think I had 3 of them. I also had the seared ahi poke wrap, which had a great wasabi aoli dipping sauce. Dan went for a teriyaki chicken burger.

In the evening, we met up with my family for dinner at the Kona Brewing Company, which has really great pizza. Dan & I were still pretty full from our late lunch, so we shared a small mushroom pizza while we shared stories about the trip.
