Lunch at Uwajimaya

In preparation for this week's meals (which rely heavily on seafood tonight, and for the next two nights), we decided to walk down to Uwajimaya in Seattle's International District (Chinatown, Japantown, and Koreatown). They have some of the best seafood in town, and always have sashimi grade tuna available.

The walk is about 3 miles, so we were pretty hungry by the time we got there, and agreed we should grab lunch there. Uwajimaya has a great food court, with a huge variety of options, so we went our separate ways and grabbed a bite. Dan has been craving Chinese, so he hit the buffet. I wanted something lighter, and decided to go for a shredded tofu Vietnamese sandwich, known as Bánh mì. The French influence on Vietnamese cuisine is very apparent in the sandwich, as it's a baguette with a mayonnaise, veggies, and (in my case) shredded tofu. When I worked across the street from 'The Waj', I used to eat these sandwiches several times a week - both because they're delicious, and because they're cheap (under $3). Since it's still quite cold outside, I opted for the extra $1 cup of broth to dip the sandwich in, too.
