
Rounding out our week of dry rubs, tonight I mixed some brown sugar, minced garlic, chili powder, cayenne, and onion powder together and rubbed it on a couple 4 oz steaks. Unfortunately, I forgot to dry the steaks thoroughly before I did so, so my 'dry' rub became a pretty wet rub. Nonetheless, when seared in a very hot pan, they formed a crispy, sweet & spicy & savory crust.
We had the steaks with some steamed asparagus (seasoned with just salt & pepper) and some smashed Yukon gold potatoes.
