SF Eggs Benedict @ Laurel Court

We fly home this morning, and wanted to squeeze in a little more time in the cozy hotel bed, so we didn't have time to go out to eat - and instead went downstairs to the Laurel Court restaurant in our hotel.

Even though, when seating us, the host tried to whisk away our menus and tell us we surely wanted the buffet, we opted instead to order off the menu. We caught a bit of an episode of Jacques & Julia where they were poaching eggs and were both craving eggs Benedict. Dan went for the classic version, while I went for the San Francisco Benedict, with spinach and crab, plus a truffle hollandaise. Both came with bacon, really tasty potatoes, and a little fruit.

Although the active buffet and the adjacency to the lobby gave the restaurant a little transient vibe, the food was great. The truffle flavor was prominent in my dish, and the sides were great (and the portions weren't unnecessarily large). I only wish we could've enjoyed the afternoon tea.
