Sun Lakes Treats

Someone mentioned the other day at work how small towns tend to have amazing fudge - and Sun Lakes is no exception. In the office of the resort they have at least a dozen varieties of fudge - including one I couldn't resist that had full sized Reeses Peanut Butter Cups embedded in a peanut butter fudge.

We bought a little over a pound and brought it home with us - and as of this writing (a couple weeks later), we're still working our way through it, one little piece at a time.

Dan & I also indulged in a frozen treat at the Streetside Cafe - a little concessions stand at the resort where the teenage staff serve up nachos, coffee drinks, pretzels, smoothies, and soft serve ice cream. New on the menu this year was the S'Mores Sundae - so we both tried it out to cut the heat of the Eastern Washington sun.

The sundae featured vanilla soft serve topped with hot fudge, marshmallow topping, whipped cream, and crushed graham crackers. I could've used a little toasting to give it that real S'mores flavor, but something tells me the management at Sun Lakes isn't going to be handing propane torches over to a bunch of 16 year olds anytime soon.
