Tonight we celebrated my brother-in-law Tim's birthday, with the traditional drinks/dinner/gifts/dessert at his home. Tim & Midge were, as always, wonderful hosts, with Tim making sure people had drinks and Midge preparing a delicious feast served at a beautifully appointed table.
We had a baked mashed potato dish that was incredibly creamy, a variety of tomatoes (including some from their garden) served sliced with basil and olive oil, and salmon cooked on wood planks, with several types of seasonings.
And if that wasn't enough, she made an amazing pumpkin bourbon cheesecake, which I NEED to get the recipe for. Tim shares my love for pumpkin, so I can always count on an amazing pumpkin dessert at his birthday.
