Jack's 4th Birthday

Our youngest nephew turned 4 this week, and tonight we went over to his family's place for dinner, drinks, conversation, and (most important to the little guy) gifts. I don't think I've ever seen Jack as excited as he was tonight.

Jack's Mother Midge (Dan's sister) put together a lovely dinner, as always, starting off with some crackers and three spreads: artichoke caper, sun dried tomato, and pesto.

After everyone had time to arrive, have a drink, and chat for awhile, we sat down for dinner. Midge discovered Pasta & Co. has these great trays of mac & cheese, which was the star of the meal - accompanied by a great salad featuring avocado, and some delicious herbed bread.

And for dessert, she made a wonderfully moist yellow cake with vanilla buttercream frosting, decorated with a Spider-man theme, and served with delicious vanilla ice cream with specs of vanilla bean. Yum!
