South End Date Night

Dan & I had a date night tonight, down at Southcenter Mall. We started with a cocktail at the Rainforest Cafe bar, where we had the same bartender as we did on Valentine's Day. Dan sat in the chair that makes you look like a giraffe centaur, and I think I was sitting on a parrot bottom. The front of the bar is a faux-aquarium, with bubbles floating up through water.

I went for the Mongoose Mai Tai and Dan had the Punch.

Then we wandered around the mall a bit, poked around a kitchen store, and then walked over to Bahama Breeze.

We sat in the bar at Bahama Breeze, too - but at a booth - and enjoyed a delicious meal and fast, friendly service. Two servers both checked in on us, as did the manager on duty - Tamara - at the end of our meal to make sure everything was good.

Dan went for the salmon pasta, which is in a passion fruit cream sauce (though neither of us could taste the passion fruit).

I had the Jerk Chicken, which came with cinnamon mashed sweet potatoes and green beans.

And, true to the great service we received all night, our waiter packed up Dan's leftover pasta in a little aluminum container, wrote the name of the item and the date on top, and drew a little picture of a sailboat.
